The
seed for Peak Harvest Foods was planted when I worked on the
family avocado and orange orchards in northern San Diego county.
While working on the farm, I had the incredible experience of
tasting the dense, mouthwatering flavors of fruits and vegetables
picked at their peak ripeness.
Over the years, my roots continually sought a closer connection
to the earth and its wonderful bounty and how to preserve the
mature, ripe flavors of fruits and vegetables for later enjoyment.
Along the way, I started to dehydrate fruits and soon had three
large dehydrators working continuously. One thing led to another
and soon I was making large quantities of plain and marinated
Crunchy Apple Stix® and rings.
I began bringing my Crunchy Apple Stix® and rings to family
gatherings and witnessed a most heart-warming experience. My
nieces and nephews, not known to consume the healthiest food,
inhaled whole bags of Crunchy Apple Stix® and rings hundreds
of times faster than I could make them. I said to myself, “wow,
this is pretty interesting” which was validated by my
dear mom who said “please keep these away from me, I can’t
stop eating ‘em!” Not one to ignore my mother’s
intuition, I began to take my Crunchy Apple Stix® and rings
more seriously.
With incredible support from close friends and family I began
developing my homemade Crunchy Apple Stix® and rings into the
crunchy, all natural snack sensation you have before you.
So, Peak Harvest Foods has been under quiet, patient development
for many years. Starting with my work on the farm, my experience
continually led me to gain an ever-increasing amount of knowledge
about fruits and vegetables and preserving their delectable,
mature flavors. Then like magic, the universe conspired to
provide me with all the right circumstances, support and opportunity
for me to start Peak Harvest Foods and introduce to you Crunchy
Apple Stix®.
